A classic BBQ side dish for a reason!
Bacon, maple syrup, Scheep Dust… are you excited yet?
Equipment
- Cast iron pot
- Smoker (or stove top if you do not have a smoker)
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of bacon (chopped into small strips)
- 1 Green pepper (diced)
- 1 Small onion (diced)
- 4 Garlic cloves (minced)
- 4 Tablespoons Scheep Dust Multi Purpose Spice Mix
- 1 Tablespoon dijon mustard
- 2 Tablespoons ketchup
- 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 Cup maple syrup
- 22-26 oz Cannellini beans (or navy beans)
Cooking Directions:
- Pre-heat smoker to 250-300 degrees (f)
- Pre-heat the pot over the coals (or on a stove top)
- Add the bacon and stir until the fat begins to render
- Add the green pepper, onion, and garlic and sauté until tender
- Add the remaining ingredients and stir until well incorporated
- Place pot in the smoker without the lid and cook for about 2 hours (or cook on the stove top)
Super simple but so delicious!
